Mr. Deering, formerly of Braintree, was the husband of the late Kathleen A. (McKiernan). He was a World War II Navy veteran, as well as the retired owner and executive vice president of Industrial Heat Treating in Quincy.

He is survived by his children, Dr. Thomas F. of Atlanta, Ellen M. Deering of  Milton and Kathleen D. Nezuh of Lexington; and grandchildren, Sophia and Kaitlyn Nezuh and Courtney Deering. He was predeceased by siblings, Oliver N. Deering, Lillian E. Keefe and Margaret H. Lindberg. 

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Agatha Church, Saturday, Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home are Friday, Oct. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m.
