Mr. Hoffman, formerly of Milton and West Roxbury, was married to the late Mary Joyce Murray Hoffman for 31 years. He is survived by his second wife, Harriet Palm Hoffman; children, Jane, Louis and his wife Mirsada Pasalic Hoffman, Mary Joyce and Audrey and her husband Derek Schug; and grandchild, Olivia. Mr. Hoffman was the son of the late Louis Herman Hoffman and the late Margaret I. O'Callaghan Hoffman.

He was a graduate of Boston College High School and Norwich University. He was an officer in the U.S. Army, serving two years in Germany and four years in the Reserves. He also earned an MBA from Suffolk University.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Elizabeth's Church on Thursday, Oct. 14. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be at the Dolan Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment at Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline.
