Burglary Suspects Arrested After Breaking into Garage, Cars
The Milton Police Department arrested two men who broke into several cars and a Garfield Road residence.
Two men were arrested early Monday morning after allegedly breaking into a Garfield Road home and several vehicles in the area. The suspects were apprehended following a short car chase after the homeowner called the Milton Police Department.
William P. Abbott, 18 of Mattapan, and Devon A. Brown, 19 of Hyde Park, were charged with burglary, breaking and entering nighttime, receiving a stolen motor vehicle and possession of burglarious tools.
Milton Police responded to the Garfield Road home at 2:40 a.m. after the resident reported four black males had entered the garage and vehicles. Milton Police followed the vehicle to Thacher Street, where Abbott and Brown fled on foot. They were eventually found and arrested.
In addition to the other charges, Abbott, who was driving the vehicle, will face charges of unlicensed operation and refusing to stop for police.
According to Deputy Chief Charles Paris, Milton Police are still inventorying the suspects’ vehicle. It is believed they broke into other vehicles prior to their arrest on Monday morning.
