Dave's Bike Infirmary Delivers Quality Customer Service

Dave’s Bike Infirmary has been catering to Milton residents for nearly forty years with customized equipment and quality service.

Established in 1974, the family business of Dave’s Bike Infirmary started as a part time venture for Milton firefighter Dave Forsyth.

“He started fixing bikes out of our house on Blue Hill Parkway,” explained his son Scott Forsyth who is the general store manager. “And it led to a lot of return customers and we eventually set up shop here."

The Forsyth family prides themselves on running a “service intensive business” at the 440 Granite Ave location and believes their customer service is what separates them from big name wholesalers like Wal-Mart or Toys R Us.

Jesse Forsyth builds custom bike frames upon request, making approximately 12 a year and staff members are always on hand to help.

The shop even offers roadside repair and maintenance classes for hands-on instruction; everything from installing lights to changing a flat tire.

“Its personal for us,” said Scott Forsyth. “In our family, I couldn’t imagine growing up not riding a bike. It’s a passion."

Over the years, Scott Forsyth has noticed a boost in sales for pavement oriented bikes as opposed to mountain bikes. He credits Lee Toma and the Milton Bicycle Advisory Committee with advocating for more bike lanes and paths in Milton saying “it gets more people into biking” and has turned the town into a “more bike-friendly community."
