1. Rain possible: Today’s chance of rain is 40 percent, according to the National Weather Service. The day will otherwise be cloudy with a high around 59.
2. New principal: Recently, Mary Gormley, the Milton Public Schools superintendent, announced the hiring of Dr. Karen Spaulding as the Pierce Middle School Principal. A committee is being formed to fill Spaulding’s position as Principal at Cunningham Elementary School.
3. New Assistant Principal/Math Curriculum Coordinator: Life LeGeros will join the Pierce Middle School staff as the Assistant Principal/Math Curriculum Coordinator. Legeros previously worked for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
4. Historical lecture: Historian Anthony Sammarco will give a lecture tonight at the Milton Public Library about Milton neighborhoods. The program, which is co-sponsored by the Milton 350th Anniversary Committee and the Forbes House Museum, begins at 7 p.m.
5. Nutrition workshop: Tonight is the second part of “Charting a Course for Childhood Nutrition,” a workshop presented by the Milton Early Childhood Alliance at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton.
