Five Things You Need to Know Today: September 8

Today you should know about music lesson signups, an art opening and more.

 

Today is Thursday, September 8. Here are five things you need to know.

1. More showers: Showers are likely today, mainly before 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, today's high will be near 70. There is also a 30 percent chance of showers tonight before 11.

2. Fontbonne first day: The students of Fontbonne Academy will start school today. Contribute to our Back-to-School photo gallery by sending your first day photos to adamr@patch.com.

3. Planning Board meeting: The Planning Board will meet tonight at 6:30 in Town Hall. The final Planning Board meeting of August was canceled.

4. Music lesson signups: Milton High will be hosting beginner registration night for Applied Music Lessons from 7:30 to 8:30, tonight. The beginner lessons are open to students in grades four and above. For more information about the program, click here.

5. Art reception: The Milton Public Library will host a reception for Elaine Shaffner, the latest artist to be featured in the Wotiz Gallery from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight. Shaffner’s realistic oil and watercolor paintings will be on display all month.
