Milton 350th Anniversary Fireworks Go on Despite Weather
While the evening was primarily dry, showers sent some firework-viewers heading for cover Friday night.
Milton’s 350th Anniversary Big Event Weekend began with a bang and bolt on Friday night with a fireworks display at Milton High School that was accompanied by a bout of rain and some lightening.
While rain fell on Milton around 5 p.m., the skies cleared for the start of the event at 6:30 p.m. A large crowd turned out at the lower sports fields for music and dancing from various performers.
As if on cue, after 350th Anniversary Committee member Brian Kelly counted down from ten to start the fireworks around 9:20 p.m., small raindrops began to fall.
By the middle of the display, many attendees headed for their homes or cars as a full downpour and some cracks of lightening joined the display.
The 25-minute firework display completed with an impressive grand finale.
