Milton’s 350^th Anniversary Big Event Weekend began with a bang and bolt on Friday night with a fireworks display at Milton High School that was accompanied by a bout of rain and some lightening.

While rain fell on Milton around 5 p.m., the skies cleared for the start of the event at 6:30 p.m. A large crowd turned out at the lower sports fields for music and dancing from various performers.

As if on cue, after 350^th Anniversary Committee member Brian Kelly counted down from ten to start the fireworks around 9:20 p.m., small raindrops began to fall.

By the middle of the display, many attendees headed for their homes or cars as a full downpour and some cracks of lightening joined the display.

The 25-minute firework display completed with an impressive grand finale.
