Milton High School hockey players Haley Dutton and Terrence Walsh were recently awarded the Hobey Baker Sportsmanship award.
Two Milton High School hockey-playing seniors were recently awarded the Hobey Baker Sportsmanship award during a ceremony held at the TD Garden.
The award, which recognizes “strength of character both on and off the ice,” was given to Haley Dutton and Terrence Walsh at The Sports Museum inside the TD Garden on April 9th.
The pair were chosen for the award based on the criteria that they must contribute to the integrity of the team and display outstanding skills in all phases of the game. Scholastic achievement and sportsmanship were also considerations.
Hobey Baker, who captained Princeton's hockey and football teams in the early part of the 20th century, is a charter member of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame, a member of the Princeton Hall of Fame and one of a handful of Americans to be inducted into Canada's Hockey Hall of Fame.
