Milton Resident, Organization Honored by State School Committee Association
The Massachusetts Association of School Committees recognized Ada Rosmarin and the Copeland Family Foundation.
A Milton resident and philanthropic organization were recognized at Wednesday’s Milton School Committee meeting by the district and the Massachusetts Association of School Committees.
After being nominated by the Milton Public Schools, MASC honored Ada Rosmarin as a “Friend of Public Education” and the Copeland Family Foundation as an “Outstanding School Partner.”
Rosmarin, who was instrumental in the institution of a full-day kindergarten program in Milton, was on of the three award winners of 90 nominees across the state.
“Your name is synonymous with what has become one of the most successful full-day kindergarten programs in the state,” Superintendent Mary Gormley said Wednesday.
The Copeland Family Foundation, which has been involved in various large and small projects across the district, is just the second organization to receive this MASC award.
School Committee Chair Glenn Pavlicek and MASC Executive Director Glenn Koocher were on hand to present plaques to Rosmarin and to Gormley on behalf of the Copelands.
