National Weather Service Issues Winter Weather Advisory

Between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday, Milton could see up to five inches of snow.

The National Weather Service has declared a Winter Weather Advisory from noon today, February 29, through 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 1. The advisory is due to a projected three to five inches of snow in Milton and the surrounding area.

The forecast indicates a 90 percent chance of daytime precipitation today, with an inch of snow possible.

Snow is also likely tonight before midnight. The nighttime low of 29, will then allow for some rain and snow into early Thursday morning. The NWS is forecasting between two and four inches of snow accumulation, tonight.

The change between snow, sleet and freezing rain could lead to icy conditions for the evening commute Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Rain and snow will alternate throughout the day tomorrow. The high tomorrow will be around 39 and precipitation is 90 percent likely.

The accumulation totals will dip by Thursday with less than a half inch possible during the day.

Some snow could fall tomorrow night, but no significant totals are expected.
