Though the weather wasn’t ideal, students from various Milton schools and across the Commonwealth participated in Massachusetts Walk and Bicycle to School Day on Wednesday, May 2.

The statewide event was part of the Safe Routes to School Program, a federally-funded initiative that promotes walking and bicycling to school.

Students who walked to school on Wednesday were rewarded with a small token at their schools.
