Police Log: Tropical Storm Irene Edition
The Milton Police, Fire and Department of Public Works were all very busy on Sunday, August 28, during Tropical Storm Irene. This is a sampling of calls that came into the Milton Police.
The following is a sampling of calls reported to the Milton Police Department on Sunday, August 28, caused by the rain and wind of Tropical Storm Irene.
- At 4:04 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a tree branch fell on an Artwill Street home.
- At 4:23 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported live wires on Governor Stoughton Lane. The responding officer reported low hanging wires and a tree down on the roadway. NSTAR was notified.
- At 4:58 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a tree fell on a motor vehicle on Wharf Street.
- At 5:13 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a small brush fire on Gile Road. The Milton Fire Department handled the situation.
- At 6:55 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a tree down on Brook Road that appeared to be on fire. The Fire Department and NSTAR were notified to respond.
- At 8:34 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported tree branches on Valley Road. The responding officer reported the roadway is blocked off due to downed trees.
- At 9:38 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a downed tree blocking Churchills Lane. The responding officer reported the roadway was completely blocked. DPW was notified for removal.
- At 10:35 p.m. Sunday, a 911 caller reported a tree on Blue Hills Parkway was on fire. The Milton Fire Department handled the situation.
