Third Annual Family Fun Fest and Yard Sale Set for Saturday
The Third Annual Family Fun Fest and Yard Sale, which is sponsored by the Centre School, will be held at First Congregational Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Celebrate the first official weekend of summer at Milton’s third annual Family Fun Fest and Yard Sale on Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. This free community event will take place rain or shine at the First Congregational Church of Milton, 495 Canton Avenue, and on the front lawn of Town Hall.
The event will feature over 40 vendors and exhibitors, including talented artists and crafters, family-friendly businesses, and community organizations. The yard sale not only has small items but a large selection of furniture, great for furnishing dorm rooms or apartments for recent grads. There will also be live music, a silent auction, and plenty of food - grilled burgers, hot dogs, baked goods.
The event is sponsored by the Centre School, who will be offering rides on Tiny the Elephant, one of the mechanical safari animals that often visits Bright Horizons centers. Children can get their faces painted and fun tattoos courtesy of the Milton Early Childhood Alliance. The Milton Fire Department will be out with a fire truck to explore as well.
Children of all ages will love the opportunity to dunk their friends in a dunk tank, bounce around in a moon walk, play carnival games, and explore their creative side with crafts. Kids are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear, doll, or other stuffed animal to visit Dr. Shannon, who will have all her medical equipment and supplies ready for check-ups and minor emergencies. More adventurous teddy bears can enjoy a zipline ride!
There will be several live entertainment acts, with special performances by the Good Shepherd Evangelical Church, Mel O’Drama, Ariel Strasser of the Boston Conservatory, and Guitarist Paul Coover. The Cat in the Hat will also be there for storytime and photographs.
Proceeds from the event will go to support youth group activities at the First Congregational Church. Vendor space is still available and starts at $25. For more information, visit www.TheFamilyFunFest.org.
