Kindergarten: Your Child's Next Big Step
Do you wonder if your child is ready - academically, socially and emotionally? What behavioral changes might you expect? What can you do to make the transition easier for both your child and you? The Milton Early Childhood Alliance is pleased to once again sponsor a workshop for parents of children who are old enough to enter Kindergarten in September, 2013. "Kindergarten: Your child's next big step" will be presented by Cheryl Render Brown, Associate Professor of Education at Wheelock College on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 PM. While Ms. Brown will not be speaking about Milton schools specifically, she will offer parents suggestions to keep in mind when approaching this very important milestone. The workshop is free and will be held at Discovery Schoolhouse, 101 Blue Hills Pkwy., Milton. Please register by calling the MECA office at 617-696-2262 or online at firstname.lastname@example.org. Free childcare will be provided and can be reserved at this time.
More About Discovery Schoolhouse
Discovery Schoolhouse opened in 1992 after a school closing in the area which left less options for child care and education. This school is located centrally to serve a variety of neighborhoods, including Mattapan, Dorchester and Milton. Along with academic classes, the school also offers afternoon, evening and summer arts programs. There are programs even for adults and seniors.
