Toys for Tots, a Tax Break and More

Here are five things you need to know for Friday. Dec. 6.

1. Toys for Tots drop-off: There's still time to help the Marines in their yearly toy drive. Bring an unwrapped, unopened gift to 378 Granite Ave. starting at 10 a.m..

2. In case you missed it: Milton's schools are about to get another batch of tablets, netbooks and other technological gadgets. The program is designed to integrate high-tech education in schools.

3. A teeny tax break: Good news! The state's income tax rate is about to drop 0.05 percent. The slight decrease comes on the heels of increased revenue coming into state coffers this year.

4. Tips for giving: It pays to be careful, even when you give to charity. Today's safety tip comes from the Better Business Bureau, which has several tips to help make sure your donations go to people in need and not some scammer's pocket.

5. Friday’s Forecast: Clouds and showers, could have an afternoon lull before more rain moves in during the evening. Changing to snow after midnight, as we near predawn Saturday. Temps drop from 51 in the morning down into the lower 40s by evening.
