As he prepares to lead the Boston City Council as its 53rd president, City Councilor Bill Linehan was feted this week for his accomplishments by supporters, civic leaders and colleagues - including Milton residents James M. Carmody and Paul Scapicchio - during a campaign fundraiser at the Seaport Hotel.
Former City Council President Stephen J. Murphy officially passed the torch to Linehan, praising the latter for his leadership capabilities and adding the city was in "good hands" with Linehan at the helm.
Linehan, who said he was "humbled" and "honored" to lead the City Council, has served as District 2 City Councilor since 2007.
