Fontbonne Academy Alumnae Dedicate Class Gift

Fontbonne Academy welcomed back its most recent alumnae, the Class of 2013, to campus for the annual Spirit Day homecoming activities.  This homecoming was particularly special, as the class dedicated its class gift:  a fountain which flows in front of the school building.  Due to inclement weather that day, the fountain was moved to the Fontbonne library where the dedication took place.  The class officers each spoke: Colleen MacDonald, of Weymouth; Caroline Staples, of Stoughton; Eliza McDonald, of Quincy; and Emily Mazza, of Quincy.  Fontbonne, or “good fountain” in French, has a fountain in its seal, and the “good fountain” and its waters are symbolic in its alma mater, which is still sung at most school events today.  The fountain was dedicated to beloved theology teacher, Mary Baker.
