Milton Jr. Wildcats Win Baystate Super Bowl, advance to State Championship.

The Milton Jr. Wildcats American Youth (AYF) Football 6th Grade team won the Bay State Conference Super Bowl with a convincing 26-0 over Weymouth on Sunday.  The Jr. Wildcats will take on Shrewsbury for the AYF Massachusetts state championship this Sunday at noon at Bowditch Field in Framingham.

After falling just short in the championship game last season, the Jr. Wildcats left no doubt as to who would win on Sunday, scoring on their first possession en route to a 13-0 halftime lead.  The 2nd half featured a stifling defense and relentless offense by the Jr. Wildcats.  Scoring for the team were Jackson McMillan, and Carter Rice, while Bryce Stovell, Kalel Mullings and Tyler Woolf paced the defense.

“This is such a wonderful day for this team and the Jr. Wildcats program,” said Head Coach Jamie Rice.  “We are so excited to be representing Eastern Massachusetts and the Bay State Conference in the state championship, and hopefully beyond.”

While the football teams have had success on the field, the Milton Jr. Wildcats cheer program has also competed well off the field. The A, B and C cheerleading squads all placed in the top 3 in their division at the Bay State Conference Cheer Competition on October 19th at the Tsongas Center in Lowell.

“This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by some very dedicated people,” said Scott Robbins.  “It is truly gratifying to see the program grow so much over the past few years, and to have our football and cheerleading teams be successful in a very competitive environment.”
