Community-Based Network of Volunteers Launches in Milton

A new chapter of Neighbor Brigade, which provides assistance to individuals and families in temporary crisis, is currently seeking Milton volunteers.

Milton Neighbor Brigade is striving to build a network of volunteers to help Milton residents by “preparing and delivering meals, going to the store, running errands, driving to and from the hospital for appointments, taking care of the family pet or offering a simple act of kindness.”

Yunren Bolortuya will be leading the Milton chapter.

“When a neighbor’s life is turned upside down by serious illness, tragedy or other sudden crisis, help lives just next door, down the street or around the block,” Bolortuya said in an announcement.

Participants can sign up at www.neighborbrigade/chapters/MiltonMA. When a need arises, registered volunteers will receive an email.

Volunteers can contribute as much time as they’d like when their schedules allow.

Neighbor Brigade began in 2002 in Wayland, Mass. Two moms started the program as they went through cancer treatments. Since then, the volunteer network has spread to other Massachusetts communities.
