Department of Revenue Seizes Wildflour Cafe in Milton

The Milton cafe was seized due to non-payment of taxes.

The doors of Wildflour Cafe, formerly Cakes Cafe and Bakery, at 95 Eliot Street closed indefinitely late last month due to non-payment of taxes, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

Milton residents Deana and Keith Martin opened Cakes in 2010. The name was eventually changed to Wildflour, the name of the company's catering branch.

The statement on the Wildflour Cafe Facebook page reads as follows.

"Good Morning to our Valued Customers! I am embarrased and ashamed to report that the Milton location of Wildflour has been temporarily closed by the DOR for non-payment of taxes. We have had a rough year and have been doing our best to work things out. We hope to be able to put together a payment plan with the DOR and will let you know when we reopen."

On Friday, another statement explained that while the cafe was closed, the bakery was still functioning. Orders can be made by calling 1-800-809-CAKE.
