Family Fun Fest Returns to First Congregational Saturday

A wide range of children's activities will be at the Second Annual Family Fun Fest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Celebrate the first official weekend of summer at Milton’s second annual Family Fun Fest on Saturday June 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This free community event will take place rain or shine at the  and on the front lawn of .  

Families can get a great start to their school vacation by sampling a wide array of enrichment activities offered by area camps, centers, and programs.  The event will also feature more than 40 vendors and exhibitors, including talented artists and crafters, family-friendly businesses and community organizations.  There will also be a live music, a silent auction, bake sale, and snack bar.  

The Centre School and other Bright Horizons childcare centers from the area will be showcasing some activities from their popular Summer Creative Arts program, including a funky light-up dance floor and sensory table exploration.  They will also be offering rides on Tiny the Elephant, one of the mechanical safari animals that often visits Bright Horizons centers.  The Cat in the Hat will also be there for storytime and photographs.

Kids and parents can also sample six free demonstration classes sponsored by Mamas Move Center of Norwell.  This is a great opportunity to try out a variety of fun programs that will keep your family active this summer and beyond.

9:30 to 10:00 Sign and Sing (Baby Sign Language, age 6-24 months)

10:00 to 11:30 KinderCREATIONS (age 3.9-5) 

10:30 to 11:00 Soccer Skills (age 4-6; weather permitting)

11:30 to 12:00 Family Zumba (all ages)

Kids are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear, doll, or other stuffed animal to visit Dr. Shannon, who will have all her medical equipment and supplies ready for check-ups and minor emergencies.  And to help minimize risk a real emergency, New York Life Insurance will offer free Child Identification kits complete with digital fingerprints, and professional car seat safety checks are planned.

Everyone will enjoy the musical performances by Carrie Cheron at 10:00 and two performances by Ruth Marvilla at 9:00 and 11:30.  Fire trucks tours will be offered by the from 11:00 to noon.  There will also be live wildlife presentations by the , kids’ tattoos by the Milton Early Childhood Alliance and of course carnival games and prizes.
