Harbor View Hotel's Executive Chef Shaun Brian Sells Receives ZAGAT’S 'Top 30 Under 30' Award

Martha's Vineyard's own Chef Sells recognized as one of Boston's best.

Executive Chef Shaun Brian Sells of Martha's Vineyard's historic Harbor View Hotel has been named to Zagat's "Top 30 Under 30" list, recognized as a stand-out contributor to the greater Boston food scene.  Known for combining classic New England cuisine with a modern twist, Chef Sells, who hails from St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has brought great acclaim to the hotel.

Most recently Chef Sells earned Boston Magazine's "Best Brunch" for 2012. He is passionate about sharing his craft, be it with the patrons of Water Street Restaurant, the anchors of FOX Boston's "Great Taste," or with island locals during lively and interactive cooking demonstrations.

"This honor is a big thrill, and I'm grateful to be recognized for doing something that I love," said Sells. Prior to joining Harbor View Hotel, he held posts at the Pelican Isle Yacht Club in Naples, Fla., The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas and The Westin St. John, both in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I realize most people don't think this way, but it would be nice if chefs were to recognize vegetarians and vegans and offer not simply sides but main courses consistent with those ways of eating. There are quite a few of us, you know, and it gets a bit tiresome always to ask for a stir fry or a big salad or something.
