Shoppers Flock to Milton Village Hardware Before Blizzard

Thursday was a busy day at Milton Village Hardware.

With over two feet of snow expected to fall on Milton this weekend, Milton Village Hardware was a popular destination before the flurries flew.

“We did a week’s worth of business today,” said owner Richard Thomason on Thursday evening.

A line of shovels and snow blowers on the sidewalk on Adams Street welcomed shoppers the day before the storm. Snow removal equipment was popular, according to Thomason, but ice melt, flashlights and batteries were also hot items Thursday.

Thomason said they store was also busy with snow blower repair in anticipation of the blizzard.

After the store closed, shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday, the business owner’s day still wasn’t complete. He said several snow blowers needed to be delivered, just over 12 hours before the storm’s projected start time.

Milton Village Hardware will open Friday at 8:15 a.m., but Thomason is unsure if the store will be open all day or on Saturday.
