FAA Proposes New Airplane Route Over Milton

The public comment period for the proposed departure route closes February 15.

A new airline departure route from Boston Logan International Airport that would fly directly over the Town of Milton could go into service as early as March 7.

The route, which was proposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), would be for departing aircrafts from Runway 33.

The public comment period for the proposal closes on February 15.

According to a letter from Judy Kennedy, Town of Milton Massport Liaison, the new route adds unneeded traffic over Milton.

“Milton is already heavily affected by two other airplane runway flight paths - Runway 4 arrivals and Runway 27 departures - and therefore Milton does not need to have an additional flight path added from airplane departures on Runway 33,” reads the letter posted on townofmilton.org on Wednesday.
