Forbes House Musesum Celebrates Holiday Season with Reception, Concert [VIDEO]

The has been slowly sliding into the holiday mood since the on November 17. The Adams Street museum will be in full Christmas mode on December 10 with its Holiday Concert.

During the stroll the museum hosted musicians to fill the air with holiday sounds and showed off the beginnings of their seasonal decorations.

Executive Director Robin Tagliaferri said she and the staff were working on a blue and white color scheme to fit the nautical history of the home, which was once inhabited by Captain Robert Bennet Forbes.

The Holiday Stroll was just the beginning of the Forbes House’s holiday transformation. The museum will be updated with fresh flower arrangements and greenery from local organizations like the Milton Garden Club, the Milton Amateur Garden Club, Cedar Grove Nursery, Thayer Nursery and Eagle Farms.

On Saturday, December 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., the museum will open its doors to the public to show off the decorations, and highlight local musicians and artists.

“We want to be out there,” Tagliaferri said. “We want to get people in the museum more.”

Milton High School String Quartet, Jazz Combo and Christmas Carolers will provide holiday music, while Visual Artist Tsun Ming Chmielinski’s art and handmade origami from Milton resident, Olivia Sidoti, will be on display.

The holiday excitement on Saturday will only begin at the Forbes House. After two hours, the event will move to on Randolph Avenue for a concert featuring Calliope.

Calliope is a nonprofit volunteer music organization that serves the Boston area. The concert will feature French Carols, Cantique de Noël, Holiday Favorites, Christmas Crackers Suite and more.

Tickets for the entire evening, including the Open House Reception and the Holiday Concert are $25 per person for members; $30 for non-members; $75 for a member family four pack; $80 for a non-member family.
