Grade One Assignment Meeting, Library Hosts Author Talk

Today is Tuesday, October 16. Here are five things you need to know.

1. High 50s: According to the National Weather Service, the high will be around 58 today. Tuesday will begin cloudy and eventually clear.

2. Grade One Assessment discussion: The Milton School Committee will hold a special meeting at 7:30 tonight specifically to address the Grade One Assessment Plan, which if approved would add a cap to the French Immersion program. The meeting will be held in the Milton High School auditorium.

3. School Committee vote: The School Committee will meet again on Wednesday evening. The final vote on the Grade One Assessment will take place at the 7 p.m. meeting in the Milton High Library. The agenda for that meeting can be found, here

4. Appeals hearing: The Milton Board of Appeals will be in session tonight at Town Hall. The meeting will begin at 7.

5. Author talk: Hingham author Don Hussey will discuss his memoir, Ticket to Ride, the Promise of America, tonight at the Milton Public Library. The free event, sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library will start at 7.
