Milton Health Coach to Host Yoga Class to Benefit Martin Richard's Family

Donations from Frances Karoff's yoga class on Thursday, April 25, will benefit the family of Martin Richard, the eight-year-old Dorchester boy that was killed at the Boston Marathon last week.

A Milton health coach and yoga teacher will hold a fundraiser yoga class in Carney Hospital's Cushing Auditorium on Thursday, April 25, for the family of Martin Richard. Martin, a Dorchester resident, was the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombings last week.

"While we are grieving over the tragic events last week, I invite you to a free yoga class to work through your experience with, as yoga is often called, a 'meditation in motion,'" said Frances Karoff.

Karoff has been practicing yoga for more than 15 years and received her 200-hour certification in 2010.

Thursday's class will be free, but donations will be collected for The Richard Family Fund. Donations can also be sent directly to The Richard Family Fund C/O St Mark's Main Street,1914 Dorchester Avenue Dorchester, MA 02124.

The Cushing Auditorium at Carney Hospital is located on the second floor. Parking is available in the front and back lots.

Karoff is also preparing for May/June sessions. The eight-week program, held Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., will also take place at Carney Hospital.

The cost for the spring yoga session is $72 and will begin May 2 and conclude June 27. There will not be a class on May 23.

Questions about the fundraiser or spring yoga session can be referred to Fran Karoff at karoffs@yahoo.com.
