Painters for a Purpose, Neighborhood Association Meeting, Detour

1. Partly sunny: Today will be partly sunny with a high near 54, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Painters for a Purpose: The Milton Public Library’s art display this month will help the Milton Food Pantry. Area artists have united for “Painters for a Purpose,” exhibiting pastel landscapes in the Wotiz Gallery and donating 30 percent of the proceeds to the food pantry.

3. Annual meeting: The Brush Hill Area Neighborhood Association will hold its annual meeting at the Milton Public Library this evening at 7 p.m. Police Chief Richard Wells Jr. will speak about traffic and safety concerns as part of the meeting.

4. Road closures: Chickatawbut Road and Wampatuck Road will be closed until this afternoon. The roads closed Sunday evening so the MWRA could remove equipment used for recent repairs.

5. Toys for Tots: It’s that time of year again. The Marine’s Toys for Tots Drive will be held from November 5 through December 22 at Kelley & Rege Properties.
