Updated Forecast Predicts Half Foot of Snow in Milton

Despite an initial forecast of 1-3 inches of snow, Milton may get a little more than expected.

Originally thought to be a small storm that would drop only 1-3 inches of snow in Milton, a new forecast from WHDH shows the town getting closer to 3-6 inches through Friday in the area.

In addition, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Norfolk County until 1 p.m. Friday. The warning claims the potential for anywhere from 4-8 inches of snow in the area, with a low probability of 10 inches in some isolated areas.

According to the warning, the heaviest accumulations are expected Thursday night into Friday morning.

Winds are expected to hit 15 to 25mph, with gusts up to 36mph.

Some power outages were reported in the South Shore due to the weather, according to NSTAR's outage map.
