April 11th                              Cool Hand Luke (1967)

The January film, 1934's It Happened One Night, was the first film to win all five major Academy Awards (Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenplay).  The movie was a sensation, not only because of its risqué scenes (Clark Gable undressing for bed; Colbert showing off her shapely leg), but for the incredible screwball comedic energy between Gable and Claudette Colbert.  She plays an heiress who, after having her marriage annulled by her father, runs away to meet up with her new spouse.  But then she runs into Gable, an out-of-work reporter, who gets her to agree to give him the exclusive on the story.

Please join us for this event which will be held in the Keys Community Room (lower level) with trivia starting at 6:15 PM.  It is sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library.  All films are screened promptly at 6:30, and refreshments will be served.  For more information, contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757.
