Monday Night at the Movies: "42: The Jackie Robinson Story"

Dreaming about baseball season?  Be inspired by history.  Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford star in the movie, "42: The Jackie Robinson Story" that will be screened at the library on Monday, January 27th.  The free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library, is open to the public.  It is rated PG-13. The 128-minute movie is set in 1946, post World War II, when Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford) signed Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) to the Brooklyn Dodgers, breaking major league baseball's infamous color line and forever changing history.  Rickey had to overcome critics, threats and naysayers, and Robinson had the strength of character to persevere and become one of baseball's mighty legends.  Contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757, for more information or visit the library's website at www.miltonlibrary.org
