Opening Reception for March Art Exhibit by Painter Therese Desmond

Local resident Therese Desmond will be exhibiting her artwork at the Wotiz Gallery of the Milton Public Library for the month of March, starting on the 2nd.  A reception with refreshments will be held on Saturday, the 8th from 2-4 PM and all are welcome.  Ms. Desmond majored in art at the University of Massachusetts and earned her graduate degree in landscape design from the Conway School of Landscape Design.  Her oil paintings evoke fanciful, colorful landscapes, often with the theme of the ocean.  Her work is a creative outlet and hobby, and she practices by seeing the changing colors in nature and by emulating the art and techniques of artists she admires.  She presently works as Superintendent of the Milton Cemetery.  For more information, contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757.
