Teen Writing Workshop

Aspiring writers in grades 6-12 are invited to a creative writing
workshop with local young adult author Kathyrn Burak. This is the second
in a series of 4 workshops to be offered at the library this spring,
each on a different aspect of writing! This workshop's topic is Magic in
Stories. For this workshop, create a character who has some kind of
magic in his/her life. Write two pages showing or illustrating the
initial realization of the magic--the moment the character discovers
this magic is a part of his/her life. Bring to workshop something you
would like to share with the group.

Ms. Burak is a Milton resident who teaches writing at Boston University. Her debut young adult novel, Emily's Dress and Other Missing Things, recieved a starred review from Booklist and
was nominated for an Edgar Award. She's a regular guest and presenter
at the library, and we're thrilled to have her back again.

Refreshments will be provided and admission is free. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library.
