Tony Watt & Southeast Expressway at the Blue Moon Coffeehouse, Rockland, Sat. March 8th

Tony Watt & Southeast Expressway are playing at the Blue Moon Coffeehouse next Saturday, March 8th. It's going to be a fantastic show, featuring some of the area's most talented pickers, including Laura Orshaw on fiddle, Ben Pearce on mandolin, Catherine "B.B" Bowness on banjo and featuring Flynn Cohen on bass! Here's the info in case you want to share it with friends: On Saturday, March 8th at 7:30 p.m., the Blue Moon Coffeehouse in Rockland features Tony Watt and Southeast Expressway. Taking their name from the primary north-south thoroughfare into downtown Boston, Tony Watt & Southeast Expressway make modern bluegrass music that is beautiful yet powerful, hip yet traditional. And as anyone who's ever been on the Southeast Expressway at rush hour would expect, they can definitely "jam." They have played at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival and opened for the Seldom Scene and Blue Highway at the National Heritage Museum. The also perform regularly at Club Passim in Cambridge. Award-winning flatpicking guitarist and mandolinist Tony Watt has performed throughout the United States and Europe, on the Grand Ole Opry, and beyond. He has been featured in Bluegrass Unlimited, Bluegrass Now and Flatpicking Guitar Magazine multiple times, including the recent Waltz Issue. Tony toured and recorded with Nashville-based Cages Bend, east Tennessee-based Meridian, with Rounder Recording artist Alecia Nugent, and most recently with Leigh Gibson, guitarist for The Gibson Brothers. He is a graduate of Leadership Bluegrass 2012 and currently serves on the International Bluegrass Music Association(IBMA) Education Committee, the IBMA Board Selection Committee, and is a Board Member of the Boston Bluegrass Union (BBU). Between sets by Tony Watt & Southeast Expressway, there will be an open mic. Tickets are $7 at the door; children 12 and under are free. The address is Channing Unitarian Universalist Church, 45 Webster St. Rockland, MA, right beside the post office. For more information, visit www.thebluemooncoffeehouse.com.
