Forbes House Museum Annual Meeting to Feature Thanks, Tributes

The Forbes House Museum's annual meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening.

The Forbes House Museum will hold its Annual Meeting on Thursday, 27 September at 6:30 p.m. in the Museum’s Exhibit Room.

The program will include official thanks to the Honorable George N. Hurd, Jr., for his gift of a Chinese model junk. The ship, nearly 4 feet tall and contained in an antique glass case, will be permanently installed in the Museum’s Exhibit Room. The junk was originally purchased by the Judge’s grandfather, attorney Robert F. Herrick, in China in the 1930’s.

The program will include a tribute to the late H. A. Crosby Forbes, Ph.D., FHM museum founder, by his niece, Trustee Emeritus, Phyllis Forbes Kerr. A tribute to the late E. Bradley Richardson will be given by Gregory Downes, former FHM Chair of the Board of Trustees.

An overview of the Irish Heritage Project and the Lincoln Cabin Restoration Project will be presented by Executive Director, Robin Tagliaferri.

The evening will include a slide show presentation of over 200 pictures highlighting the year in review.

The meeting is open to the public. RSVP to the FHM office at 617.696.1815 or by e-mail atinfo@forbeshousemuseum.org.  Refreshments and light fare will be served.
