Memorial Fund Started for Milton Resident

Hingham chef Andrea Schnell is trying to raise money for her cousin's family, after he passed away suddenly at work. Her cousin, Mark MacDougall, was just 28.

Mark MacDougall of Milton passed away suddenly while at work last Thursday due to an enlarged heart. He was only 28 and has a young wife and two young kids. They had just moved into their dream house the Saturday before, but he did not have life insurance and now his family will face financial troubles, the Main Street Media Group said in an email to Patch.

Andrea Schnell, MacDougall's cousin and the executive chef at Hingham's Square Café, is reaching out to the community for help after his tragic passing.

To help her cousin’s family, Schnell and her family started a memorial fund to help out MacDougall’s widow Nicole and  two children, Isabella and Charlie, as they move forward after the unexpected passing of their husband and father.

Thanks to generous people from all over the state, the memorial fund has already raised over $24,000 as it reaches its target of $500,000.  The donated money will eventually be used to start a private trust fund for MacDougall’s family.

“Mark worked tirelessly to assure that his family's every need was met,” the memorial website states.” With the help of your donation, Mark's family will remain in their home, providing some stability as they become accustom to their new routines. This will help continue Marks life's work of providing for his family.”
