Music, Games and Greening Up the Blue Hills

Come and enjoy the Blue Hills and help keep the forests healthy at the same time.

Do you want to enjoy the outdoors, live music and crafts – and help keep the forests healthy?

Join the Friends of The Blue Hills and the Appalachian Mountain Club on May 20, 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm for Green-Up the Blue Hills Day. Together, we’ll help protect the local forest environment.

For most visitors to the 7,000 acre Blue Hills reservation many plants look alike.  Yet many of the plants that have expanded in recent years are not native to the park and threaten to crowd out naturally occurring species. Green-Up day will help restore the balance between the two.

The day will include live jazz music, scavenger hunts, face-painting and hikes guided by naturalists, all interspersed with team efforts to track down and remove invasive species.

Please join us for all the activities.  Events will take place on Sunday May 20th, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the Ponkapoag AMC cabins.  To access the site park at Temple Beth David, 1060 Randolph St, Canton and walk in about ¼ mile to the Ponkapoag Cabins.
