Winter Break Survival Guide: Indoor and Outdoor Activities in the Blue Hills

Looking for something to do with the kids during Winter Break? Here are three ideas they'll love.

Looking for something to do with the kids during Winter Break?  Here are three ideas for enjoying the Blue Hills.

Blue Hills Ski Area

This weekend’s snow has left excellent conditions at the Blue Hill Ski Area.  Bundle  the kids up and bring them to the Blue Hill Ski Area.  Take advantage of the extended hours (9:00 am – 9:00 pm).  A day pass is $35.  Details.  (And don’t forget to come back for skiing and Irish music on February 26th for the Blue Hills Winter Fest.)

Sledding at Ponkapoag

The whole family will enjoy sledding at the Ponkapoag Golf Course (2167 Washington St, Canton).  It’s a bit of a walk, but worth it.  Walk to the right from the parking lot away from the path and cross the small bridge to slide down the hill.

The Blue Hill Trailside Museum

If you want a break from the cold, check out the nature exhibits at the Blue Hill Trailside Museum.  Kids always love the live animals inside and outside the museum. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday.  Details.
