Volunteer of the Year Award Honors Milton Resident

Friends of the Blue Hills volunteer Caleb Blankenship received this year’s Massachusetts Forest and Park Friends Network Volunteer of the Year Award.  Caleb (center) received his award, presented by the Department of Conservation and Recreation Commissioner Jack Murray, for his dedication to the Friends of the Blue Hills trail maintenance effort.  As chair of Friends of the Blue Hills Trails Committee, Caleb helped oversee over 350 volunteers who logged over 1,200 hours maintaining the trails in the Blue Hills this year.

DCR Blue Hills Rangers Tom Bender (left) and Ray McKinnon received the DCR Friend of the Year for their hard work and dedication to the Blue Hills.  We’re thrilled to have such dependable partners to work with to maintain and protect the Blue Hills!
