Obituary: James L. Sullivan, Former Milton Executive Secretary

James Leo Sullivan died at age 86 on September 26.

James Leo Sullivan, the first Executive Secretary for the Town of Milton, passed away at the age of 86 at the University Health Center of Princeton/Plainsboro New Jersey on Wednesday, September 26.

Besides serving in Milton’s first town administrator position, Sullivan worked in several public administration jobs including as the city manager of Lowell and Cambridge.

Sullivan was a US Navy veteran who was among the men on shore at Nagasaki after the atomic bomb was dropped.

A private service will be held in the chapel at New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Monday, October 1, at 2 p.m.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 20, at St. Mary’s Church in Chelmsford. The public service will begin at 9 a.m. A reception will follow at 10:30 at Mount Pleasant Country Club, Staples Street, Lowell.
