The Week Ahead

A look forward at what's going on in Milton the week of July 26.

Every Monday, Milton Patch will give you a rundown of what to expect in the week ahead. You'll find scheduled meetings and noteworthy events and maybe even where you'll find me this week.

A hearing and two site walks will make up the governmental activities for the week.

The hearing will be 7 p.m. Thursday night at Town Hall before the Board of Appeals to settle a dispute over the telecommunications tower at 123 Granite Ave. between SBA Towers II LLC and American Legion Post 114. The meeting is a continuation of the hearing from July 20, and should end the controversy that began in December 2008.

Monday evening will be the second of two site walks for the proposed Neponset River Trail extension. Last Thursday, residents and officials walked the north side of the river. Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. residents will be able to walk and ask questions about the path suggestions on the Milton side of the river. The walk will begin at Riverway Plaza, 90 River St. in Mattapan.

The other site walk this week will be at the Houghton's Pond Recreational Area on Thursday at 8 a.m. to look at a new bathhouse and access path.
