Court Log: Assault Charge Goes to Trial, Residential B&E Continued

Milton man faces jury on assault and battery charge

James E. Hazelton III, 56, of 5 Mark Lane, Milton was given pretrial probation until July 16, 2013 in Quincy District Court on a charge of assault and battery.

The charge stems from a March 28 incident in Braintree at 11:55 p.m. when police responded to an abandoned 911 call at 27 Packard Drive. There, police found the alleged victim bleeding from the lip but refused to tell police what had happened during an argument.

A judge instructed Hazelton not to abuse the victim and not to have any more arrests.

Breaking and entering case continued

Alexander Andrade, 23, of 31 Burman St., Mattapan had a charge of daytime breaking and entering into a building continued to Oct. 15 for a hearing in Quincy District Court.

The charge stems from a May 4, 2011 incident in Milton at 12:10 p.m. when a police officer observed two suspicious looking men standing on the sidewalk in front of a residence on Blue Hills Parkway. The officer conducted a further investigation and found an open window to the residence and what appeared to be household items knocked over inside a room. The back door was unlocked, according to police.
