Court Log: Check Forgery, Sex Offender Fails to Register

Milton man faces check forgery charges

Jeffren S. O'Bannon, 27, of 14 Decker Road, Milton was arraigned in Quincy District Court on two counts of forgery of a check, two counts of uttering a false check, and attempting to commit a crime. The case was continued to Oct. 11. O'Bannon was released on personal recognizance. The charges stem from a Oct. 1, 2011 incident in Braintree after the Old Colony YMCA told police its checking account had been compromised as a result of a courier robbery. The account was then flagged. O'Bannon is accused of entering the Rockland Trust bank branch at 405 Washington St. and attempting to cash two checks totaling $683 belonging to the Old Colony YMCA. Both checks allegedly were written as payable to the suspect, police said in the incident report.

Dorchester man has traffic offenses thrown out

Sam Davies, 20, of 30 Crowell St., Dorchester had charges of driving a vehicle uninsured, driving a vehicle unregistered, and a number plate violation to conceal dismissed prior to arraignment in Quincy District Court. The charges stemmed from a Oct. 10, 2011 incident in Milton at 11:35 when police encountered a disabled motor vehicle on Route 93.

Brighton man charged with failure to register as sex offender

Levi A. Worsley, 49, of 95 Washington St., Apt. 59, Brighton was arraigned in Quincy District Court on a charge of failure to register as a Level 2 or 3 sex offender. The case was continued to Oct. 2. Worsley was released on personal recognizance. The charge stems from a May 5 incident in Milton after police made several attempts to contact Worsley in person about the status of his registry as a sex offender
