Court Log: Suspicious Person Found Guilty

OUI case continued without finding

Gene A. Mazzella, 46, of 210 Hillside Ave., Apt. 15, Needham had a charge of operating under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding of guilty in Quincy District Court to Sept. 17, 2013, forfeited his driver's license for 45 days, and was instructed to undergo a treatment program. A related charge of negligent driving was dismissed. Mazzella was found not responsible for speeding and a marked lanes violation. The charges stemmed from a Oct. 20, 2010 incident in Milton at 12:15 a.m. when State Police conducting traffic enforcement on Route 93 southbound clocked a vehicle traveling 81 mph in a 55 mph zone. State Police stopped the vehicle, administered field sobriety tests to the driver, Mazzella, and arrested him on suspicion of driving impaired.

Mattapan man found guilty of receiving stolen property

Jason D. Jones, 25, of 884 Cummins Highway, Apt. 4, Mattapan was found guilty on two counts of receiving stolen property over $250 and receiving stolen property under $250. The charges stemmed from a July 28, 2011 incident in Milton at 11:40 p.m. when police were dispatched to Willoughby Road in response to a report of a suspicious person attempting to gain access into parked vehicles. Police found Jones in possession of two Mastercard credit cards and two Visa credit cards belonging to another person. Further details were unavailable.
