Firefighters Rescue 2 from Burning Eliot Street Building

A three-alarm blaze tore through a home at 240 Eliot St. Wednesday morning.

When fire trucks pulled up to a burning home on Eliot Street Wednesday morning, they saw a person hanging out of a third-story window.

“The fire was on the second floor,” Milton Fire Chief Jack Grant said.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the three-alarm fire at 240 Eliot St. that officials received calls about at 10 a.m., but the home was severely damaged.

The victim spotted at the third story window was rescued by aerial ladder, but there was another victim inside.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the victims; both were transported to area hospitals, Grant said.
