Firefighters Respond to Three-Alarm Fire on 1466 Canton Ave.

Fire on Canton Ave. quickly escalated from two-alarm to three-alarm in a matter of minutes.


Updated, 7:46pm: Rear of the house just collapsed. Heavy fire conditions. Firefighters lost the water. Public safety officials are conducting a roll call to make sure all firefighters got out of the building.

Updated, 7:43 pm: All firefighters were ordered out of 1466 Canton AVe. in Milton. There is the potential for the building to collapse, according to unconfirmed public safety reports.


Milton firefighters are currently on the scene of a three-alarm blaze at 1466 Canton Ave. The heavy fire is already through the roof of the ranch-style house.

The fire was called in around 6:20pm, within minutes it was a three-alarm fire. Boston firefighters are also on the scene.

According to unconfirmed scanner reports, the house is located at the end of a long driveway, and the fire hydrant is one-half mile from the house.

Thank God no injuries to any of our wonderful firefighters. Buildings can be replaced. Hydrant a half mile away-bad situation made even more difficult by the remote location. Thank you for all you do.
