Milton Detective Completes 65-Mile Bike Ride for 9/11

In remembrance of one of the most horrific events in United States history one Milton police detective participated in an annual bike race tradition – this year with added significance.

Detective Michael Dillon rode 65 miles between Rhode Island and Boston Wednesday as part of the Tour De Force, an annual memorial bike ride which takes place on 9/11 each year.

This year’s ride was dedicated to the memory of MIT Police Officer Sean Collier, who was killed April 18 allegedly by Boston Marathon bombing suspects Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

“This was Michaels first endeavor of this type and despite 90 heat and blazing sun he finished with no problems,” according to a post on the Milton Police Department Facebook page.
