Milton Home Break-in Occurs While Family Sleeps

A Friday night break-in took place while eight people slept inside a Herrick Drive home.

The Milton Police Department is investigating a unique residential break-in that happened on Friday night, July 12. Most break-ins in Milton take place during the day, but this incident occurred between midnight and 6 a.m. while eight people slept in the Herrick Drive home.

According to the Milton Police Department's Facebook page, entry was gained through an open rear door. Laptops, a purse and other small electronics were reported stolen.

"We cannot reinforce enough how important it is to lock your doors at all times," reads the MPD statement. "As we stated, this is a very rare occurrence in Milton, but diligence in locking your car and your home is so important."
