Milton Home Damaged in Weekend Fire

Officials estimate $200,000 damage.

A two-alarm fire tore through a Martin Road home early Sunday morning causing extensive damage.

John King, deputy chief of the Milton Police Department, said the police and fire department’s began receiving calls about the fire just after 3:16 a.m. Sept. 22.

A Milton Police officer was the first to arrive at the scene, and he observed flames at the side and rear of the home. Neighbors told the officer no one was home at the time.

The fire department arrived shortly there after and quickly knocked down the fire, King said.

King said the fire department estimates the home sustained about $200,000 worth of damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
