Boston man ditches arraignment on traffic charges

Barry J. Birks, 43, of 20 Mercer St., Apt. 2, Boston did not show up for an arraignment in Quincy District Court on charges of driving with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured vehicle. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest. The charges stem from a April 14, 2011 incident in Milton at 2:30 p.m. when state police on patrol on Route 93 encountered Birks' car abandoned in the right travel lane with its emergency lights flashing.

Canton man arraigned on traffic charges

Michael Jenkins, 50, of 44 Kenney St., Canton was arraigned in Quincy District Court on charges of driving after license suspension for a subsequent offense and no inspection sticker. The case was continued to April 30. The charges stem from a Aug. 2, 2011 incident in Milton at 11:10 a.m. when state police stopped Jenkins' vehicle while monitoring traffic on Route 28.

Milton man faces burglary charges in Braintree

John D. Murtagh, 18, of 16 Thistle St., Milton had two counts of breaking into a vehicle or boat at night, two counts of vandalizing property, and malicious damage to a motor vehicle continued to April 17 for a pretrial conference in Quincy District Court. The charges stem from Oct. 9, 2011 incident in Braintree at 1:25 a.m. when police responded to a report of an attempted breaking an entering into a car involving two male suspects, police said in the incident report.
